Point Spread Bets Defined: Nflbettingsystem's

POINT SPREAD BETS DEFINED

Definition
This is a wager made on either the favorite or underdog team. A wager on the favored team means that this team must not only win but also win by the specified point spread. A wager on the underdog means that this team may either win or lose, as long as they do no lose by more than the specified point spread.

Why Use This Bet
This is one of the simplest forms of betting. All you have to do is chose a team and bet that it will cover the point spread. Typically the payout odds are -110, or for each $11 bet will win $10.

Rules

A "-" or the term "by" indicates the favored team, the associated points must be subtracted from this team’s final score.

A "+" or no text next to the team indicates the underdog team, the associated points must be added to this team’s final score.
Including the point spread, if the wager results in a tie (push) then the wagered amount is refunded.

The point spread is subject to change at any time before a bet is placed.
Once a wager is confirmed at a given point spread that is the point spread for that wager regardless of subsequent changes.

The odds on all point-spread wagers are 10/11 (each $11 wagered will win $10), unless specifically stated otherwise.

Overtime scoring is included in determining the wager result
Example
Green Bay by 5
Denver
Your pick: Denver +5.
Final score:
Green Bay 31
Denver 28 (+ 5 Points) = 33

After adding 5 points to Denver’s score, you win the bet. Unless otherwise stated the odds are always -110 (0.90909 payout or each $11 bet will win $10)

MONEY LINE BETS

Definition

This is a straight wager on which team will win the contest outright with no other handicap. The pay off odds for each team varies depending on which team is favored to win.
Why Use This Bet
This is the simplest of all wagers. You are betting on a team to win straight up and the payout can be much better than a point spread wager if betting on the underdog.

Rules
Pay off odds determine which team is favored; this team will usually have a “-“ sign next to the odds. If both teams have the “-“ then the team with the higher negative number is the favorite.
There are no set pay off odds, each team in a contest has different pay off odds for winning
The pay off odds are on either team are subject to change at any time before a wager is placed
Once a wager is confirmed at the given odds, those are the odds for that wager regardless of subsequent changes.
There are no buying points on money line wagers.

Overtime scoring is included in the scoring to decide the winner
Example
Green Bay -230
Denver +200

This is simply a wager on the winner of the contest with odds corresponding to the expected likelihood of each team winning. In this example, Denver is the underdog and the odds of +200 mean that if Denver wins for every $1 bet you win $2 (200/100 = 2:1 odds). Green Bay is favored at –230 (100/230 = 0.43) or every $1 bet wins you $0.43. Another way to look at the odds is that for the underdog every $100 bet wins you the number shown ($200 in this case) and for the favorite the number shown is the amount one must bet ($230 in this case) to win $100.

Your pick: Denver +200
Final score:
Green Bay 21
Denver 28 Denver wins outright and your $100 bet wins you $200.

TOTAL SCORE BETS

Definition

A total score wager (also known as an Over/Under wager) is a single wager on the total combined points scored by both teams in the game. Rather than wagering on whether one team is going to win or lose you decide whether the combined points of both teams will total more or less than the line.

Why use this bet

When you don’t have an opinion on who will win a contest but think there will be a lot of scoring or very little scoring. This is a neutral wager, betting on the amount of points scored by both teams on a game rather than on which team will win.

Rules

To win an OVER wager, the total points scored by both teams combined (sum) must exceed the posted number
To win an UNDER wager, the total points scored by both teams combined (sum) must be less than the posted number
If the Total Score is the same as the number posted (a tie/push) then the wagered amount is refunded.
The Total Score (Over/Under) number is subject to change at any time before a wager is placed
Once a wager is confirmed at a given Total Score number, that is the number for that wager regardless of subsequent changes.

The odds on all Total Score wagers are 11/10 (each $11 wagered to win $10)

Over time is included as part of the total score of the game.
Example
Green Bay by 5
Denver 46

The 46 across from Denver represents the expected total number of points to be scored by both teams combined at the end of the contest. Since both these teams have a good offense and score a lot, you might choose to bet the OVER.
Final Score: Green Bay 31 Denver 26 Total: 57 11 points OVER 46.
Unless otherwise stated the odds are always -110 (0.90909 payout or each $11 bet will win $10)

TEAM SCORE BETS

Definition

A team score is a bet on the total points scored by an individual team. You can bet the total number of points a single team will score will go over the posted number or under the number.

Why use this bet

This wager allows you to bet on the individual performance of your chosen team. It is a wager on the total points scored by the team independent of the points scored by the opposing team. Good to use if you know a particular team well but do not know much about their opponent.

Rules

To win an OVER wager, the total points scored by the individual team must exceed the posted number
To win an UNDER wager, the total points scored by the individual team must be less than the posted number
If the Team Total Score is the same as the number posted (a tie/push) then the wagered amount is refunded.
The Team Total Score (Over/Under) number is subject to change at any time before a bet is placed.
Once a wager is confirmed at a given Total Score number, that is the number for that wager regardless of subsequent changes.
The odds on most Team Total Score wagers are 10/11 ($110 wagered to win $100) unless specified other wise.

Overtime scoring is included in determining the wager results

Example
Green Bay 25.5
Denver 20.5

The 20.5 across from Denver represents the expected total number of points to be scored only by Denver’s team at the end of the contest. Believing Denver will have difficulty scoring this many points on the road you might bet the Under 20.5 on Denver’s single side total.
Final Score: Green Bay 28 Denver 17 (UNDER 20.5 points for Denver)
Unless otherwise stated the odds are always -110 (0.90909 payout or each $11 bet will win $10)

BUY POINTS

Definition
Buying points allows you to move the points (point spread or total) in your favor in return for a lower payout than a typical straight wager.
Why use this bet
Buying points allows you to get a more favorable line. In close games just ½ point can make the difference between a win or a push.

Rules

You may only buy points on the complete game (no first, second halves, quarters)
You may only buy points on point spread and total score propositions
Maximum of 10 points may be bought (may vary per sport and/or contest as well as individual player)
If the wager is a push, the money is refunded.
See buying points table for the odds
In NFL/CFL/NFLE/AFL football there is an extra 10 cents charge applied to the odds for buying on or off a point spread of 3. If points are bought both on and off a point spread of 3 the charge will be 10 cents for each or 20 cents total applied to the odds.
In NCAA (College) football there is an extra 5 cents charge applied to the odds for buying on or off a point spread of 3. If points are bought both on and off a point spread of 3 the charge will be 5 cents for each or 10 cents total applied to the odds.

Example
Green Bay by 5
Denver 46

You like Denver, but would prefer to get 6 points rather than just 5.
Your bet: Risk $130 to win $100 Denver +6 points. Each half point cost 10 cents on the money line odds. A regular point spread bet has money line odds of –110 so adding 20 cents for the 1 point bought gives odds of –130.
Final Score: Green Bay 31 Denver 26 (+6 points ) = 32
The extra point bought paid off, rather than push and your $130 refunded you bet is a winner.

SELL POINTS
Definition
Selling points allows you to move the points (point spread or total) against your favor in return for a higher payout than a typical straight wager.
Why use this bet
Selling points allows you to get a higher payout and win more money. If you think a favorite is going to blow out another team or a big underdog is going to win outright selling points will maximize your payout.

Rules
You may only sell points on the complete game (no first, second halves, quarters)
You may only sell points on point spread and total score propositions
Maximum of 5 points (may vary per sport and/or contest as well as individual player)
If the wager is a push, the money is refunded.
See selling points table for the odds

Example
Green Bay by 5
Denver 46
You like Denver, but you think they have an excellent chance of beating Green Bay and at least won’t lose by more than 3. You sell 1.5 points and take Denver +3.5.
Your bet: Risk $100 to win $120 Denver +3.5 points. Each half point increases 10 cents to the money line odds. A regular point spread bet has money line odds of –110 so subtracting 30 cents for the 1.5 points sold gives odds of +120.
Final Score: Green Bay 28 Denver 26 (+3.5 points ) = 29.5
Selling those 1.5 points paid off, you won $120 instead of $90 by selling 1.5 pts.

ACTION POINTS
Definition
The action point wager is a per point wager on the point spread or total. You will get paid for each point your team covers the spread by and you are liable for each point they don’t cover or lose by. You define the number of points in “action” by choosing a point cap between 5 and 50 points. This is the maximum number of points you are willing to win or lose.
Why use this bet
Action point wagers minimize the risk of a straight wager. Rather than all or nothing, you will win or lose per point minimizing the possibility of losing your entire bet while still having the possibility of winning the same as a straight wager.

Rules
This may only be used as a straight wager on a single proposition (point spread or total) on the contest
You may only make action point wagers on the complete game on the spread or the total, not any fraction of the game (first half, half time, quarters, etc.)
Circled contests may not be used to make an action point wager
Football and basketball are the only sports action point wagers can be placed on
In the event the contests included in an action point is canceled, postponed or there is a push on the line, the wager will be canceled and all wagers refunded.
You may NOT buy/sell points on Action point wagers.
The odds are 10/11 (each $11 wagered per point will win $10 per point)
½ point differences will be paid according to the wager amount (ex. To win $10/pt and you win 3.5 points your payout will be $35)

Example
Green Bay by 5
Denver 46
Pick: Green Bay –5
Point cap: 20 points
Wager: Risk $11/pt to Win $10/pt
Max Profit: $200 (20pts x $10/pt)
Max Liability: $220 (20pts x $11/pt)
You are wagering that Green Bay is going to win by much more than 5 pts and in doing so will earn you $10 for each point beyond 5 that they do win by.
Scenario I:
Final Score
Green Bay 44
Denver 24
Green Bay wins by 20 pts. Since your bet was at Green Bay winning by 5 pts we subtract 5 from 20 and you win 15 pts.
Results: You win $150 (15pts x $10/pt)
Scenario II:
Final Score
Green Bay 10
Denver 40
Green Bay is blown out by Denver and loses by 30 pts. Since you only had 20 pts in action your loss is calculated on 20 pts rather than 30 pts.
Results: You lose $220 (20 pts x $11/pt)
Scenario III:
Final Score
Green Bay 28
Denver 31
Green Bay loses on a late FG by 3 pts. Green Bay was favored to win by 5 points so this must be added to the 3 point loss making it a total of 8 pts for the action wager.
Results: You lose $88 (8 pts x $11/pt)

IF BETS.
Definition
An IF bet is a multi-team wager that allows the player to make a chain of straight bets linked by a condition. Each bet is place only IF the condition is met. Thus, the IF bet allows the player to make multiple straight wagers while only risking the money to place one straight wager.
Conditions.
a) IF win only (subsequent bets are placed only IF the preceding bet wins).
b) IF win/tie/cancel (subsequent bets are placed only IF the preceding bet wins/ties/cancels).
c) IF lose only (subsequent bets are placed only IF the preceding bet loses. Think double-header in baseball).
d) IF lose/tie/cancel (subsequent bets are placed only IF the preceding bet loses/ties/cancels).
Why use this bet.
The IF Bet is a great tool for making several straight bets on a low budget. It is a money management tool for the customer allowing you to place bets on more games without having to risk as much money.
Rules
IF Bet wagers from different sports are allowed.
There are four conditions to chose from a) If win only b) If win, tie, cancel c) If lose only and d) If lose, tie, cancel.
You may buy/sell up to 3 points on IF bets (buying/selling points rule apply)
You may include parts of contests in an IF bet (first half, second half, etc). However, if it is a part of the same contest (Game and same game 1st half) you may not IF a side with a side or a total with a total.
The maximum bet allowed on the consecutive bet is the risk of the previous straight bet. You may bet the same amount or less on subsequent bets in the IF.
# of selections allowed 2-10
Only straight bets are allowed in an IF bet
All teams on the IF bet must be chosen when the bet is placed (no open picks).

Example
You have $110 in your account but you really like four NFL games and they all begin at 1:00pm. An IF bet is the perfect tool for you to bet all 4 games without lowering your bet amounts or funding your account. Select the games in the order of preference and the conditions (IF Win Only or IF Win/Tie/Cancel) and your subsequent bets will be placed automatically when the previous one wins. Choose the order wisely though, as this will determine how many of the bets are placed.
Below are the games and bets you are interested in:
Pick Proposition Risk Win
Pittsburgh -9 pts $110 $100
NY Jets +170 $100 $170
San Diego/KC Over 45 pts $55 $50
St. Louis -200 $50 $38
The bet on NY Jets money line will only be placed IF Pittsburgh wins the game by 9 points or more. Likewise, the 3rd bet on the SD/KC Over will not be placed unless the San Diego/KC the Jets win the game. Note, you may bet the same amount or less but never more on subsequent wagers in the IF.
Results Bet Amount Win Account Balance
Start of Day - - $110
Pittsburgh –9 $110 $100 $100
NY Jets to win +170 $100 $170 $315
San Diego/KC Over 45 $55 $0 $315
St. Louis to win –200 BET NOT PLACED
So even though you begin the day with only $110 you were able to place 3 bets for a total of $265 on games which all began at the same time and you have $205 more in your account.

REVERSE BETS
Definition
A Reverse is a two-way IF bet following the IF win/tie/cancel condition. In the case of three or more teams, all possible combinations are made of two way IF bets with the chosen teams.
Why use this bet
A reverse offers the advantage of a large payout without the risk of losing the bet if one team loses.

For Example, if you place a 3-team reverse for $110 your total risk will be $660. If all 3 teams win you win $1200 and if only 2 teams win you still win $160.
Conditions
All IF bets in a Reverse bet are placed under the condition win/tie/cancel.
Rules
The Rules of IF bets apply
The bet amount chosen for the Reverse is the same amount for each IF bet in the reverse (you risk the same amount for each IF bet created in the Reverse)
The maximum risk of the reverse is determined by multiplying the risk of the bet times the number of picks in the reverse (ex. A 3-team reverse for $110 the max risk is $330)
The maximum win is determined by adding up the individual win amounts of each bet included in the reverse
# of selections allowed 2-5.
In the case of more than two teams chosen, the reverse is all possible combinations of two team IF bets and their Reverse with all the selections.
You may buy/sell points on each selection in the reverse up to a maximum of 3 points
Example
You like 3 wagers for the day and would like to use a Reverse to maximize your payout.
Your Picks: Bet Amount:
Minnesota –3 $110 on each straight bet
Seattle/Arizona OVER 38.5
St. Louis (Team Total) OVER 21.5
Placing a reverse generates a series of IF bet combinations each for the same bet amount and under the conditions of If win, tie, cancel as follows:
If Minnesota –3 Risk $110 to Win $100 wins, ties, or cancels
Then place Seattle/Arizona OVER 38.5 Risk $110 to Win $100
If Minnesota –3 Risk $110 to Win $100 wins, ties, or cancels
Then place St. Louis OVER 21.5 Risk $110 to Win $100.
If Seattle/Arizona OVER 38.5 Risk $110 to Win $100 wins, ties, or cancels
Then place St. Louis OVER 21.5 Risk $110 to Win $100
If Seattle/Arizona OVER 38.5 Risk $110 to Win $100 wins, ties, or cancels
Then place Minnesota –3 Risk $110 to Win $100 wins, ties, or cancels
If St. Louis OVER 21.5 Risk $110 to Win $100 wins, ties, or cancels
Then place Seattle/Arizona OVER 38.5 Risk $110 to Win $100
If St. Louis OVER 21.5 Risk $110 to Win $100 wins, ties, or cancels
Then place Minnesota –3 Risk $110 to Win $100
Thus the 3 team reverse generates 6 pairs of If bets or a total of 12 wagers. Let’s assume the results are as follows:
Minnesota –3 Minnesota 28 Green Bay 21 (WIN)
Seattle/Arizona OVER 38.5 Seattle 13 Arizona 14 (LOSS)
St. Louis OVER 21.5 St. Louis 38 NY Giants 24 (WIN)
If Minnesota –3 Risk $110 to Win $100 wins, ties, or cancels (Win $100)
Then place Seattle/Arizona OVER 38.5 Risk $110 to Win $100 (Lose $110)
If Minnesota –3 Risk $110 to Win $100 wins, ties, or cancels (Win $100)
Then place St. Louis OVER 21.5 Risk $110 to Win $100. (Win $100)
If Sea/Arz OVER 38.5 Risk $110 to Win $100 wins, ties, or cancels (Lose $110)
Then place St. Louis OVER 21.5 Risk $110 to Win $100 (not placed)
If Sea/Arz OVER 38.5 Risk $110 to Win $100 wins, ties, or cancels (Lose $110)
Then place Minnesota –3 Risk $110 to Win $100 wins, ties, or cancels (not placed)
If St. Louis OVER 21.5 Risk $110 to Win $100 wins, ties, or cancels (Win $100)
Then place Seattle/Arizona OVER 38.5 Risk $110 to Win $100 (Lose $110)
If St. Louis OVER 21.5 Risk $110 to Win $100 wins, ties, or cancels (Win $100)
Then place Minnesota –3 Risk $110 to Win $100 (Win $100)
TOTALS: 10/12 Bets Placed, 6 wins for $600, 4 losses for $440, Net Win $160

PARLAYS
Definition
A parlay is a multi-team bet that strings together multiple point spread bets, total score bets, money lines, team totals or any combination of these to increase the pay-off odds.
Why use this bet
A parlay offers one of the highest payouts of any wager. Risk a little to win a lot. The more plays chosen the larger the payout.

Rules
All selections included in parlay must win for the parlay to win and pay off
A tie or push of any of the contests included in the parlay removes that wager from the parlay, leaving only remaining games in parlay (3 wager parlay becomes 2 wager parlay or 2 wager parlay become straight bet). The bet amount will remain the same with the payout odds adjusted according to the remaining team(s) in the parlay. This also applies to a canceled or postponed contest
Parlaying wagers from different sports is allowed.
All parlay odds are calculated by using the real money line odds of each proposition included in the parlay less a hold percentage. The actual payout will vary depending on the money line odds of your selections but see the PARLAY ODDS TABLE for odds based on all selections with –110 money line odds.

Money line parlays odds are calculated with the Money Line Parlay Formula:
Money Line Parlay Formula = [(1+ Decimal Odds of Participant 1) X (1+ Decimal Odds of Participant 2) X..........(1+ Decimal Odds of Participant N)] -1
Note: Decimal Odds are converted from the Money Line Odds as Follows.
If participant odds are positive then: Decimal Odds = Money Line Odds/100
If participant odds are negative then: Decimal Odds = 100/Money Line Odds
# of selection allowed 2-15
Circled contests may not be included in a parlay.
Buying/Selling points is allowed up to a maximum of 1.5 points on each selection in the parlay

Example
You like 3 wagers for the day and would like to use a Parlay to maximize your payout.
Your Picks: Bet Amount:
Minnesota –3 (-110) $100
Miami/Buffalo OVER 38.5 (-110)
Oakland to Win +150
To calculate the odds we must looks at the money line odds of each selection and calculate the payout with the following formula.
Real ML Payout = [(1+(100/110)) x (1+(100/110)) x (1+(150/100))] -1 = 8.11
Hold % = -0.72%
Actual Payout = 8.1 + (8.1 x 0.0072) = 8.17
Thus, all 3-team parlays the odds are actually better than real ML odds. Note, the hold % is subject to change and varies depending on the number of selections included in your parlay. See the PARLAY ODDS TABLE to see the current odds as they apply to standard –110 selection parlays.
Your $100 parlay if all selections win will pay $817 in winnings. Let’s compare this to betting each of your picks as a straight bet and spending the same $100 doing so.
Minnesota –3 (-110) Risk $33.33 Win $30.29
Miami/Buffalo OVER 38.5 (-110) Risk $33.33 Win $30.29
Oakland (+150) Risk $33.33 Win $50.00
Totals: Risk $100 Win $110.58
Thus, by choosing to parlay your picks you multiply your payout by nearly 7 times and stand to win nearly $706 more.

ROUND ROBINS
Definition
A Round Robin is a multi-team wager that consists of a series of parlays. A Round Robin creates all possible combinations of two, three or more team parlays with the teams chosen.
Why use this bet
A round robin limits liability by increasing the odds of a payout. Rather than put all your selections into one parlay, the round robin creates all possible parlay combinations with your selections. This is quite simply the “don’t put all your eggs in one basket” principal. By splitting your selections into multiple parlays you increase the potential of getting a payout on at least one of the parlays.

Rules
All parlay Rules apply.
You may buy/sell up to 1.5 points for each selection
Round Robin wagers from different sports are allowed.
# of selections allowed 3-5
Circled contests may not be included in a Round Robin.

Example
You like 3 wagers for the day and would like to use a Round Robin to maximize your payout.
Your Picks: Bet Amount:
Minnesota –3 (-110) $100 on each parlay
Miami/Buffalo OVER 38.5 (-110)
Oakland (Team Total) OVER 23.5 (-110)
Rather than placing one parlay with all 3 picks and needing all 3 picks to win placing a Round Robin you still come out ahead if just 2 of the 3 picks win. Placing a Round Robin generates a series of parlay bet combinations each for the same bet amount as follows:
2 Team Parlay Minnesota –3 (-110) and Miami/Buffalo OVER 38.5 (-110) Risk $100
to Win $260
2 Team Parlay Minnesota –3 (-110) and Oakland OVER 23.5 (-110) Risk $100
to Win $260
2 Team Parlay Miami/Buffalo OVER 38.5 (-110) and Oakland OVER 23.5 (-110) Risk $100 to Win $260
The results of your picks are:
Minnesota –3 Minnesota 28 Green Bay 24 (WIN)
Miami/Buffalo OVER 38.5 Miami 20 Buffalo 21 (WIN)
Oakland OVER 23.5 Oakland 17 Kansas City 20 (LOSS)
1) 2 Team Parlay Minnesota -3 and Miami/Buffalo OVER 38.5 Win $260
2) 2 Team Parlay Minnesota -3 and Oakland OVER 23.5 Lose $100
3) 2 Team Parlay Miami/Buffalo OVER 38.5 and Oakland OVER 23.5 Lose $100
Total: Win $60
You won $60 by using the Round Robin rather than losing $100 with a straight parlay. In addition the Round Robin offers the chance for a huge payoff if all your picks win, $780 versus just $260 for a straight parlay.
Note: Parlay odds are subject to change. Please check the parlay odds table to verify current odds. All parlays are calculated from the money line odds formula. A hold % is then subtracted from the results. In this Example each 2-team parlay the odds are calculated as follows:
Real ML Payout = [(1+(100/110)) x (1+(100/110))] -1 = 2.64
Actual Payout = 2.64 - [2.64 x (0.0167 Hold)]
Actual Payout = 2.6 times the amount bet

VEGAS TEASERS
Definition
A teaser is a special type of parlay in which you adjust the point spread or total of each individual play to your favor. The price of moving the point spread (teasing) is a lower payoff than a standard parlay.
Why use this bet
The teaser is used to significantly move point spreads (or totals) in your favor while still offering a high payout as a result of parlaying the wagers together. If you are considering a parlay but would like to significantly move the spread in your favor, the teaser is the perfect tool. The more wagers included in the teaser the higher the payout.

Rules
All selections included in teaser must win for the teaser to win and pay off.
A tie (push), cancellation, or postponement of any of the contests included in the teaser removes that wager from the teaser. In this event the risk amount of the teaser will remain the same but the payout odds will be adjusted to reflect the payout of the remaining picks in the teaser.
A 2-team teaser with a tie (push) is a loss. A 2-team teaser that has a canceled or postponed contest will be refunded.
Teasing wagers from different sports is allowed (basketball and football only)
You may only tease the complete game on the point spread or the total, not any fraction of the game (first half, half time, quarters, etc.)
Pay off odds increase as the number of wagers parlayed increase (SEE: TEASER ODDS TABLE).
# of selections allowed 2-15
Circled contests may not be included in a teaser.
Football and basketball are the only sports teaser wagers can be placed on. The point available for the teaser vary depending on the sport (ex. A 6 pt tease in football is equal to a 4 point tease in basketball)
The same teaser points will apply to each selection in the teaser (you cannot tease one wager 6 points and another 7 points within the same tease)
Buying/Selling points is NOT allowed

Example
You like betting the point spread and totals and you like 3 wagers in particular this day. You have $100 to bet with and would like to maximize your payout using a parlay but you are not sure if all the picks will cover the points. Teasing the points in your favor would provide insurance against this while making the picks that much more attractive.
Your Picks: Bet Amount:
Minnesota -7 $100
Miami/Buffalo OVER 38.5
Oakland –9
Selecting a teaser bet for football your options are to tease each selection 6, 6.5, or 7 points.
To decide let’s look at each option to see what the payout is:
6 pt Tease 6.5 pt Tease 7 pt Tease
Minnesota –1 Minnesota –0.5 Minnesota - 0
Miami/Buffalo OVER 32.5 Miami/Buffalo OVER 32 Miami/Buffalo OVER 31.5
Oakland –3 Oakland –2.5 Oakland –2
Payout: $160 Payout: $150 Payout: $120
The 6pt teaser has the best payout but the 7 pt teaser gives you more confidence you will come away with a winner. Selecting the 7 pt teaser your $100 bet will payout $120. When the games end the results are:
Teaser Final Scores Result
Minnesota – 0 Minnesota 27 Green Bay 23 Win
Miami/Buffalo OVER 31.5 Miami 19 Buffalo 13 Win
Oakland –2 Oakland 23 Kansas City 20 Win
You won $120. Good thing you went with the 7 pt teaser, as you needed those points in both the Oakland and Miami games.

SPECIAL TEASERS
Definition
A special teaser is a fixed multi-team wager that allows the points (point spread or total) to be significantly moved (more points than a standard teaser) in the players favor. The more wagers chosen for the special teaser the more points each wager can be teased. The number of points, the number of plays, and the payout are fixed.
Why use this bet
Significantly move the points in your favor and still receive a high payout. It allows you to move the points more than are possible with buying points, a Vegas teaser, or a strip teaser.

Rules
All selections included in the teaser must win for the special teaser to win and pay off.
A tie or push of any of the contests included in the special teaser will make the play a loss.
Special Teasers from different sports are allowed (basketball and football only and sport points will apply…i.e. a 15 point special teaser in football will be 13 points for basketball)
You may only Special Tease the complete game on the point spread or the total, not any fraction of the game (first half, half time, quarters, etc.)
# of selections allowed is fixed at 3, 4, or 5
Special Teaser Odds Table
Circled contests may not be included in a special teaser.
Football and basketball are the only sports Special Teaser wagers can be placed on.
The same Special Teaser points will apply to each wager in the Special Teaser (you cannot tease one wager 10 points and another 11 points within the same tease)
In the event one of the contests included in a special teaser is canceled or postponed, the special teaser will be canceled and all wagers refunded.
At least one side on a 3 team Special teaser.
At least two sides on a 4 team Special teaser.
No totals allowed on a 5 team Special teaser.
Buying points NOT allowed

Minnesota -10 $100
Miami/Buffalo OVER 38.5
Oakland –10
Two of your picks are heavy favorites and looking at your wagering options you don’t believe a standard teaser will move the points enough. That is why the Special Teaser was invented. A 3-team special teaser gives you 10 points on each selection and is perfect for your picks. Selecting the bet type special teaser and selecting 10 points will place the bet as follows:
Minnesota –0
Miami/Buffalo OVER 28.5
Oakland –0
Payout Odds: -120
Risk $100 to Win $83
The payout suffers compared to a regular teaser or a parlay but being able to tease each selection by 10 points makes a win very likely. When the games end the results are:
Teaser Final Scores Result
Minnesota – 0 Minnesota 27 Green Bay 26 Win
Miami/Buffalo OVER 28.5 Miami 20 Buffalo 13 Win
Oakland –0 Oakland 23 Kansas City 20 Win
Your $100 wins you $83. Good thing you went with the special teaser, as you needed all 10 points to win the Minnesota game and the bet.

STRIP TEASERS
Definition
A Strip Teaser is a multi-team teaser wager which allows the player to distribute the points teased to each wager individually, giving more points to some wagers and less to others.
Why use this bet
When you don’t need all the teaser points on some selections but you need more points on other selections. Teasing a point spread of –5.5 to +0.5 with a 6 point teaser is no better than teasing it to 0. Use the points where you need them most.

Rules
All selections included in a Strip Tease must win for the Strip Tease to win and pay off.
A tie or push of any of the contests included in the Strip Tease makes the play a loser.
Strip teasing wagers from different sports is allowed (basketball and football only)
You may only Strip Tease the complete game on the point spread or total only, not any fraction of the game (first half, half time, quarters, etc.)
The payout is calculated depending on how you chose to distribute your points. Each half a point will affect the money line of the selection as when buying points (see Strip Tease Odds Table). The payout is calculated with the new adjusted money lines as a money line parlay.
# of selections allowed 2-10
Circled contests may NOT be included in a Strip Teaser.
Football and basketball only. Each football selection will receive 6 points to be teased. Each basketball selection will receive 4 points to be teased.
Maximum tease per selection 10 points. Minimum tease per selection 0 points.
In the event one of the contests included in a Strip Teaser is canceled or postponed the Strip Teaser will be canceled and all wagers refunded.

Example
You have $100 to bet with and would like to maximize your payout using a parlay but you are not sure if all the picks will cover the points. You prefer to use the strip teaser to be able to customize the teaser to your picks.
Your Picks: Bet Amount:
Minnesota –9 (-110) $100
Miami +1 (-110)
Kansas City –4 (-110)
You like Miami and Kansas City much better if they were getting a FG and Minnesota if they only had to win rather than win by 9 points. A standard teaser will not give you enough points to get the Minnesota line to 0. Although a special teaser would, the payout is too low for your liking. That is why the Strip Teaser was invented. You can customize your teaser to your picks to give you exactly the line you want. You have three selections and each one adds 6 points to the teaser for a total of 18 points you can distribute as you like. Distributing the points you wager looks like this:
Original Line # Points Teased New Line Odds
Minnesota –9 (-110) +9 points Minnesota –0 -520
Miami +1 (-110) +2 points Miami +3 -165
Kansas City –4 (-110) +7 points Kansas City +3 -370
The three new money lines are -520, -165 and -370. To calculate the payout of this play, we follow these steps:

1) Determine the decimal value for each money line.
Step 1
100/520 = 0.1923
100/165 = 0.6060
100/370 = 0.2703
2) Add 1 to each of these values.

Step 2
0.1020 + 1 = 1.1923
0.3846 + 1 = 1.6060
0.1429 + 1 = 1.2703
3) Use the Money Line Parlay Formula to calculate the payout. Multiplying the results together, times the amount risked for the wager and then subtracting the wager amount.

Step 3
[((1.1923) x (1.6060) x (1.2703) * 100)] - 100= $143
So your $100 wager will win you $143. Note, all selections must win to win a loss or a push on any selection will lose the entire wager.

PLEASERS
Definition
A pleaser is a multi-team wager in which point spreads and/or totals are moved against your favor in return for a much higher payout. A pleaser is the opposite of a teaser, you move the points against your selections for a higher payout than a parlay.
Why use this bet
This is the most profitable of all wagers. Risk very little and win a lot. A good bet to use if you like big underdogs to win or favorites to blow out their opponents.

Rules
All selections included in the pleaser must win for the pleaser to win and pay off.
A tie or push of any of the contests included in the pleaser makes the play a loser.
Pleasing wagers from different sports is allowed (basketball and football only)
Football and basketball are the only sports pleaser wagers can be placed on. The points available for the teaser vary depending on the sport (ex. A 6 pt please in football is equal to a 4 point please in basketball)
You may only please the complete game on the spread or the total, not any fraction of the game (first half, half time, quarters, etc.)
Pay off odds increase as number of wagers parlayed increase (SEE: Pleaser Odds Table)
# of selections allows 2-8
Circled contests may not be included in a pleaser.
The same amount of points will apply to all wagers in the pleaser (you cannot pleaser one wager 6 points and another 7 points within the same pleaser).
If one of the games in a pleaser is canceled or postponed, that contest will be removed from the pleaser and the remaining contests will constitute the pleaser (i.e. 3 wager pleaser will revert to a 2 wager pleaser).
If the initial pleaser only involves 2 contests or 2 wagers on the same contest, then the pleaser will be canceled and all wagers refunded.

Example
Your have a $100 and you really like 3 underdog teams and would like to capitalize with a huge payout. A pleaser is the perfect bet offering the highest payout of any wager.
Your Picks: Bet Amount:
Minnesota +9 $100
Cleveland +7.5
Buffalo +5
You really like all three underdogs and believe they all are going to win outright. Choosing the pleaser bet you see your options are a 6, 6.5, or 7-point pleaser. Let’s see how these options affect your picks:
6 pt Please 6.5 pt Please 7 pt Please
Minnesota +3 Minnesota +2.5 Minnesota +2
Cleveland +1.5 Cleveland +1 Cleveland +0.5
Buffalo –1 Buffalo –1.5 Buffalo –2
Payout: $1700 Payout: $2000 Payout: $2300
The 7pt pleaser has the best payout but the 6 pt pleaser gives you more confidence you will come away with a winner. Selecting the 6 pt pleaser your $100 bet will payout $1700. When the games end the results are:
Pleaser Final Scores Result
Minnesota +3 Minnesota 27 Green Bay 23 Win
Cleveland +1.5 Cleveland 20 Pittsburgh 19 Win
Buffalo –1 Buffalo 21 New England 19 Win
Wow, great bet you win $1700. Good thing you went with the 6 pt pleaser, as had you gone with a 7 pt pleaser and the higher payout you would have pushed the Buffalo game and lost the bet.

BASEBALL TEASERS
Definition
A teaser is a special type of parlay in which you can adjust the total of a play to your favor. The price of teasing is a lower pay off on the odds of your wagers,
Why use this bet
The teaser gives you great odds and allows you to change the total of the teams that you chose. The more totals that you chose, the better the odds.

Rules
All wagers included in teaser must win for the teaser to win and pay off.
A tie or push of any of the contests included in the teaser makes the teaser a loss.
Baseball teasers may only include baseball totals; no other sports may be mixed.
You may only tease the total of the complete game.
Pay off odds increase as number of wagers parlayed increase (SEE: MLB TEASER ODDS TABLE).
# of selections 2-10
Circled contests may not be included in a teaser.
The same amount of teaser points will apply to all wagers in the teaser, unless specified otherwise.
In the event that one of the contests included in a teaser is canceled or postponed, the contest will be removed from the teaser and the remaining contests will constitute the teaser (i.e. 3 wager teaser will revert to a 2 wager teaser). If the initial teaser only involves 2 contest or 2 wagers on the same contest then the teaser will be canceled and the money refunded.
There are no buying runs on teasers.
When the side taken in the total is favored by –125 or higher, you will get ½ a run less than the number of runs you are teasing.
All selections from the teaser are bet under the terms Listed Pitchers. If there is a change to the listed starting pitchers for any of the selections that selection will be canceled and removed from the teaser.
For each of the selections to be official, each game must go 9 innings (8 ½ if the home team is ahead). If any of the selections are canceled before completing 9 innings the selections will be removed from the teaser.

Example
St. Louis -170 9.5 (-130)
Seattle +150 9.5 (+110)
Baltimore +170 10 (-110)
Anaheim -200 10 (-110)
Colorado +110 8 (-130)
Los Angeles -130 8 (+110)

You like the totals on the above contests and would like to get the extra edge by teasing the totals by 2 runs. Your picks are:

St. Louis vs Seattle Over 9.5 (-130)
Baltimore vs. Anaheim Under 10 (-130)
Colorado vs. Los Angeles Over 8 (+110)
After adjusting the totals you picks look like this:
St. Louis vs Seattle Over 8
Baltimore vs. Anaheim Under 12
Colorado vs. Los Angeles Over 6
Note: You only got 1.5 points on the St. Louis game because the odds on the Over were greater than –125 (-130). On a teaser this mean that the line goes up ½ point before the tease takes affect. Looking up the payout for a 3 team 2 point teaser gives odds of 1.5:1 or $100 bet wins you $150.
The Final Scores:
St. Louis 5 Seattle 4 Total =9
Baltimore 5 Anaheim 3 Total =8
Colorado 3 Los Angeles 4 Total =7
All selections are winners, you win $150
